The union representing striking Boeing workers rejected the company’s latest pay proposal, with a survey showing nearly 95pc of members opposed it, despite an increase from a 25pc to a 30pc wage offer.

More than 32,000 Boeing workers have been on strike since September 13, marking the first strike since 2008, disrupting production of key airplane models like the 737 MAX.

The union is demanding a 40pc pay raise and the restoration of a defined-benefit pension, while Boeing has frozen hiring and initiated temporary layoffs amid the strike.

Economic forecasts suggest that if the strike continues, it could lead to a €500m in lost labour income by September 27.
