Former Kerry TD Brendan Griffin, described at the 2024 ITIC conference as the best tourism minister Ireland never had, announced his transition to a role as a Senior Public Affairs Advisor with Hanover Communications, marking a shift to public relations after 13 years in politics.
Griffin served as a Fine Gael TD from 2011 to 2024, first representing the Kerry South constituency and then the five-seater Kerry constituency, and he was also a Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism, and Sport from 2017 to 2020.
After retiring from politics in 2023, citing family commitments, Griffin expressed enthusiasm for his new position at Hanover, where he aims to leverage his experience in public affairs to benefit clients across different sectors.
Lorna Jennings, Managing Director of Hanover Dublin, stated that Griffin’s extensive background will enhance their strategic counsel and public affairs services, particularly in the transport, sport, and tourism sectors.
