British passport application fees are increasing next week for both standard adult and child passports, as well as the larger 54-page “frequent traveller” passport.
The online application fee for a standard adult 34-page passport will rise from £82.50 to £88.50, while a child passport will increase from £53.50 to £57.50. This compares with €75 fee for an Irish passport plus a €15 postage if you live outside Ireland.
The cost for the frequent traveller passport from Britain, which is currently £93.50, is set to increase by around 7.5pc to approximately £100.
The fees for expedited fast track and premium services will also increase, with additional costs for postal applications and those applying from overseas. The price hikes are aimed at covering the costs of processing passport applications and consular support.
