Business class bookings on Dublin-Dubai up by 31pc in 2023

Emirates has experienced a 31pc growth in bookings for business and first class on the Dublin-Dubai route in 2023, reaching unprecedented levels. 

The airline will carry over 450,000 passengers on the Dublin-Dubai route in 2023, with double daily service both into and out of Dublin Airport. Australia remains the top international destination from Ireland.

Anita Thomas, the country manager for Emirates in Ireland, states that 2023 is shaping up to be one of the airline’s most successful years, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. The demand for international travel has returned stronger than ever, with Dubai being a popular holiday destination and Australia being the busiest route.

On the Dublin-Dubai route, Emirates carried nearly 5,000 tonnes of cargo, including food exports from Ireland such as crabs, oysters, and salmon. The bellyhold of the aircraft is also utilised for transporting pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and even aircraft parts.

Emirates offers a variety of Irish products onboard, including VOYA, Butlers Chocolates, Killowen Yogurt, and Keogh’s Crisps. Passengers can enjoy gourmet chocolates, with over 40m pieces served annually.

Dubai and Australia are expected to remain the leading destinations in 2024, but there has been a spike in bookings to Vietnam. Bangkok, Maldives, and Cape Town.

Emirates serves 144 destinations in 77 countries and territories. It prides itself on having a modern fleet, award-winning in-flight entertainment, regionally inspired cuisine, and complimentary Wi-Fi for Skywards members.
