Kildare County Council has revealed a 20-year plan for the renewal and regeneration of Castledermot, with funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development.
The plan focuses on enhancing the “livability” of the town through improved pedestrian and cyclist connections, increased biodiversity, and greening of the environment.
Collaboration with local residents, Technological University Dublin students, and design professionals was key to developing the plan.
Key projects include public realm design, celebrating Castledermot’s heritage, activating vacant buildings, and improving areas like Market Square, Main Street, St James’ Church, and the Green & River Lerr.
