Celebrity Edge, the first ship of Celebrity Cruises’ Edge Class, is currently undergoing routine maintenance in drydock in Europe at the Chantier Naval de Marseille.
The 2018-built cruise ship, completing five years in service in 2023, is undergoing class inspections, including a hull survey and equipment overhauls.
Routine upkeep is being done on the hotel side, including replacing carpets, upholstery, and other maintenance tasks.
After the drydock, Celebrity Edge is scheduled to resume passenger operations on October 30, starting a repositioning voyage from Civitavecchia, Italy to Dubai, UAE, with ports of call including Catania, Piraeus, Aqaba, and Abu Dhabi. It will then continue to India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the South Pacific, ending in Sydney.
Celebrity Edge was the first ship of the Edge Class, built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France. It introduced features like Eden, a unique dining and entertainment space.
