Céleste, a French regional startup founded in 2021 but which never operated a single flight, has been placed into compulsory liquidation by the Brest Commercial Court.

The company, which never operated commercial flights, was placed into receivership in March 2022 due to struggles in securing adequate funding to meet regulatory requirements for an operating license from the French civil aviation authority.

Despite local support and financial backing from municipalities, Céleste was unable to launch operations before its liquidation was mandated on June 25.

The airline aimed to provide direct flights from Brest Bretagne to Paris Orly and Nice but faced delays in obtaining its operating license, leading to its closure.
