Addressing the 2023 Annual Conference of the ITAA, the CEO Clare Dunne stressed the industry’s need to focus on training.

As CEO, newly appointed in July, she said she was prioritising member training, including member dedicated training, member access to general training and an industry-specific leadership programme.

“The tender has just been awarded, with substantial EU investment. I would appreciate your support on that. If that is successful that will lead us to get further investment from Skillnet to run a new entry programme for the ITAA.”

She said the Association is exploring third-level partnerships for a new programme, beyond Sallynoggin with whom they work with at the moment.

She highlighted various services offered, including legal information, bonding insurance, PR, member webinars, and communication through the ITAA, refreshing membership renewal process, establishing a communication network for past industry members, and reviewing and promoting the brand value of the ITAA.

“I’d ask you to start thinking about this :what does being an ITAA member mean to you, and then what does it mean to the public because we have to really get this message out there, to establish the message first for ourselves and then roll it out to the public.”

Ms Dunne mentioned her work in securing sponsors for the awards and exploring partnership opportunities with the Holiday World show, the conferences, the industry awards which had been launched with headline sponsors MSC and trade shows which are seeking a new venue, and using the Holiday World show for recruitment into the industry.

The ITAA have revamped their partner programme which is now our partner plus programme.

She mentioned the change in regulation from CAR to the IAA and pointed out Louise O’Dwyer is available to any members who have queries about licensing. Ms O’Dwyer has replaced Gavin Lyons, whom we sadly lost this year.
