Cliffs of Moher opens €320k ‘Ledge 4D” experience

The Ledge 4D Experience, a €320,000 upgrade has opened at the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, enhancing the visitor experience within the Cliffs of Moher Experience visitor centre.

The virtual reality cliffside experience now offers an interactive three-minute tour of the cliffs, showcasing stunning visuals of the cliffs on a calm summer’s day, including views above and below the sea, accompanied by environmental effects like wind and mist for an immersive experience.

State-of-the-art projectors, an improved sound system, and a tiered standing area have been installed to enhance viewing conditions, providing visitors with a realistic bird’s-eye view of the Cliffs of Moher above and below water.

Officially opening the experience, Joe Cooney, Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council, said the Ledge 4D Experience reflects ongoing investment in enhancing the visitor experience at the Cliffs of Moher, contributing to the local tourism economy, while the upgrade was undertaken to modernise visuals, sound equipment, and overall quality standards of the experience to align with contemporary technology and visitor expectations.
