Aircoach is to stop its service to Bray and Greystones effective March 2 at 00:01 am, limiting route 702 to Dalkey due to poor route performance and customer demand.
The review by Aircoach included an evaluation of service levels across Dublin routes; the company aims to align offerings with demand to maintain service reliability.
Aircoach announced an expansion to its services last year from 152 daily services to 217. It says anticipated passenger growth to match the expansion has not materialized.
From 2 March, the 700 route will just operate between Dublin Airport and Leopardstown and will no longer serve Galloping Green, Foxrock, Cabinteely, Cornelscourt or Cherrywood.
The 701 route will become the 700X, providing a shuttle service between Dublin Airport and the city centre, with the Ballsbridge and St Vincent’s Hospital stops now being served by Route 702.
The 702 route will operate between Dublin Airport and Dalkey, serving the 3Arena, Ballsbridge, St Vincent’s Hospital, Booterstown, Monkstown, Dún Laoghaire and Dalkey via the Port Tunnel.
Current statistics show low passenger numbers on the stops listed for discontinuing, as journey times worsened due to congestion, leading to decreased attractiveness compared to options like the Dart.
