Conservation work has started on the historic Austins building in Derry commenced planning for early 2026.
Exploratory works started in January to assess the condition.
A conservation management plan is guiding the restoration with a full restoration phase targeted later in 2026 to revitalise the landmark for future use. The site represented the oldest independent department store location.
Robert Miller shared “This is the beginning of a new chapter for Austins transforming a much-loved landmark into a place of pride energy and opportunity once more.”
