Consumer Protection Commissioner received 900 airline complaints last year

Ryanair was the subject of 554 complaints to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission’s consumer helpline in the previous year, making it the third most complained company.

Ticketmaster and Eir were first and second with 614 and 604 contacts, respectively.

The overall number of contacts made to the helpline rose by 13pc last year, approaching 45,000. Aer Lingus was in eighth place with 340 complaints.
