The Passport Office in Cork is moving 500 meters downriver from its current location on South Mall to the newly developed Navigation Square at Albert Quay, enhancing its accessibility within the city.
This move, part of a broader development strategy by the Office of Public Works (OPW), will include additional legal state services relocating to Cork from Dublin, marking a shift for public services in the area.
Navigation Square, housing modern architecture by Henry J. Lyons, is expected to create a vibrant new hub within Cork’s docklands, reflecting the maritime history of the region and contributing to the city’s evolving landscape.
Jacobs Engineering, an Irish multinational firm, is also set to relocate to Navigation Square from its existing offices in Mahon, anticipating a further boost to the city centre’s economy and taken alongside spiraling demand for office space in the area.
At present the current public passport office at 1A South Mall is open Monday to Fridays
