

Mayor of County Cork, councillor Frank O’Flynn led a delegation to Chicago for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations to promote the Working Holiday Authorisation Programme for US students in Cork.
The programme, sponsored by Cork County Council and the Irish Hotels Federation, allows US students to have a 12-month working holiday and training in Cork hotels.
Ten students have shown interest in the programme, which has been endorsed by Tánaiste Micheál Martin, with the aim of filling vacancies in the hospitality sector in Cork.
The partnership between the council, IHF, and the Consulate General of Ireland in Chicago is seen as a successful international collaboration promoting career opportunities in the tourism and hospitality sector in Cork
