County Clare has climbed ten places in the Global Destination Sustainability (GDS) Movement’s 2024 Top 40 Destinations Index, moving from 38th to 28th position, alongside notable cities like Sydney and Copenhagen.
Clare was assessed in four key areas: Environmental Performance, Social Progress Performance, Supplier Performance, and Destination Management Performance, focusing on various sustainability and social indicators.
The criteria evaluated include climate commitment, resource management, social progress indicators, and the sustainability practices of the local meetings’ industry supply chain.
