Cruise industry reports record demand at Seatrade 2026 in Miami

Leaders from the top four cruise conglomerates gathered in Miami Beach this week or Seatrade 2026 to discuss the state of the global cruise business. 

The executives have addressed rising fuel prices caused by the current geopolitical situation while confirming strong underlying demand. Carnival Corporation, Royal Caribbean Group, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and MSC Group’s Cruise Division have participated in the meeting.

Josh Weinstein has noted that the focus for Carnival Corporation has remained on using less fuel to save money and benefit the planet. Jason Liberty has explained that Royal Caribbean Group has advanced technology and the use of biofuels in preparation for net zero goals. John Chidsey has described the value proposition of a cruise vacation as unmatched from a value perspective.

The industry has adapted to volatility through technology including AI to reduce friction for passengers. Pierfrancesco Vago has stated that the sector has addressed sustainability concerns and has now turned attention to managing passenger flows with local authorities as demonstrated in Dubrovnik.
