
Meath East TD Darren O’Rourke says that 30,000 Meath residents are affected by noise from Dublin airport.
Speaking in the Dáil, he expressing concerns about the lack of scrutiny regarding aircraft noise from the airport’s north runway.
Recent figures released by Dublin Airport operator, DAA, indicate that over 70% of noise-related complaints stem from night time flights.
Complaints about aircraft using the runway accounted for approximately 22pc of all complaints recorded since the end of February, following changes to flight paths.
Tanaiste Micheál Martin mentioned a report from the Aircraft Noise Competent Authority (ANCA), which found that one expected outcome regarding noise abatement was not achieved in the 2022 assessment.
