The deadline for submissions relating to the Dundalk Bay to Carlingford Greenway has been extended in response to strong opposition expressed at public meetings held in north Louth earlier this week.
The meetings, attended by hundreds of people, were held at St. Patrick’s and Cooley Kickhams GAA clubrooms at the request of local councillors and organised by the Cooley Community Alert Group following a previous public consultation session at Ballymascanlon Hotel.
There was significant objection to the project voiced at the meetings, leading to the decision to extend the deadline for submissions to allow for further input and feedback.
The Greenway project is facing opposition in the community, prompting additional public engagement sessions and an extension of the submission deadline to address concerns and gather more input from local residents.
