Department of Foreign Affairs updates travel advice for five countries

The Department of Foreign Affairs has updated its advice relating to five countries, DR Congo, Haiti, Malaysia, Myanmar and New Caledonia.

Irish citizens are not required to apply for a visa prior to entering Malaysia for short-term visits of less than 90 days for tourism purposes.

Visitors travelling between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia (the states of Sabah and Sarawak) you will need to carry your passport. Visitors must get an entry stamp in East Malaysia at your initial port of entry.

Transiting at Kuala Lumpur airport between  KLIA1 and KLIA2 requires exiting through Malaysian immigration and entering again.
