Departures at Dublin Airport were delayed for approximately 20 minutes on Saturday due to a dog spotted on the runway.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m., prompting a swift response from Airport Police and Airport Fire and Rescue teams.
Flight departures from the North Runway were temporarily suspended while the teams ensured the dog’s safety.
The dog was unharmed and is currently being cared for at the Airport Police K9 facility before being transferred to Dogs Aid dog sanctuary. Shauns aviation shared a video with the air traffic control audio.
Graeme McQueen, Media Relations Manager at daa said “departures off the North Runway at Dublin Airport were suspended for around 20 minutes on Saturday afternoon after a dog was spotted on the airfield. Our Airport Police and Airport Fire and Rescue teams worked together to return the dog to safety. The dog was unharmed and is being cared for at our Airport Police K9 facility and will be transferred to the Dogs Aid dog sanctuary later today.”
