Designs have been released for Neom Airport City. Iran-based Kalbod Design Studio has released a concept for the Neom Airport City in Saudi Arabia.

The airport city would be part of the Neom metro area, a planned development in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia is focused on diversifying its economy and has already launched Riyadh Air and plans to establish NEOM Airlines.

The concept envisions a strategic connection between Neom Airport City and the larger Neom project, with a focus on tourism and sustainability.

Kalbod Design Studio says that the airport would also be a distinctive tourist attraction. Former Tourism Ireland CEO Niall Gibbons has joined Neom as head of tourism.

The PIF has already launched Riyadh Air, led by ex-Etihad Airways chief executive officer (CEO) Tony Douglas with Meath-born Peter Bellew at COO. The airline is set to begin flights in 2025, and has ordered 39 Boeing 787-9 aircraft (with 33 additional options).

The fund is also responsible for the launch of another airline in the country, NEOM Airlines, to be based in the metro region.
