
Dublin city centre ranks as the second slowest for drivers globally, with a 10km journey averaging 29 minutes and 30 seconds, worsening by one minute since 2022.
London topped the slow traffic ranking, with an average 10km drive taking 37 minutes and 20 seconds, influenced by 20mph speed limits. Dublin was followed by Toronto, Canada in third spot (29 minutes); Milan, Italy (28 minutes and 50 seconds); and Lima, Peru (28 minutes and 30 seconds).
The analysis by TomTom covered 387 cities. Stephanie Leonard, head of government and regulatory affairs at TomTom, said: “local authorities must put support behind programmes that encourage cycling, public transport and other modes to take a larger share in transportation.”
