A strike called by the Verdi trade union will impact Munich Airport, Germany’s second-largest airport, on Thursday and Friday, leading to substantial travel disruptions.

Three rotations from Dublin have been cancelled:

  • EI352@06.40 & inbound EI353
  • LH2517@10:45 & inbound LH2516
  • EI356@16.00 & inbound EI357
  • LH2519@18.00 & inbound LH2518

Approximately 1,600 flights, 80pc of the toal, are expected to be canceled over these two days.

Verdi says the strike is aimed at improving working conditions and pay for public sector workers, began at midnight on Thursday and will last for 48 hours.

Earlier in the week, calls were made for similar actions at Cologne/Bonn and Düsseldorf airports as negotiations failed to yield results on pay and holiday improvements.
