A survey by Mastercard shows 58pc of Dubliners are willing to pay more to dine closer to home, while only 23pc would choose a restaurant further away to save money.
The survey showed 63pc of Dubliners visit their favourite local restaurant at least twice a month, indicating strong support for local establishments.
Charlie Carrington of Mastercard said Mastercard was bringing back the Dine Local project to help Dubliners discover dining options in their own neighbourhoods, featuring 21 locations until November 19. “We’re proud to support local businesses and committed to initiatives like this one.”
