Green Party leader Eamon Ryan appeared on the Late Late Show on Friday March 1 to address comments made by Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary.
O’Leary had criticised the Environment Minister, calling him a “dunce” and blaming a passenger cap at Dublin Airport for hindering the airline’s growth.
Ryan expressed that he is looking forward to meeting O’Leary and discussing serious issues such as sustainable aviation.
Despite O’Leary’s remarks and the photo showing him holding cut-outs of Ryan wearing a green dunce cap, Ryan remains focused on productive dialogue: “It doesn’t bother me. To be honest I’m looking forward to meeting him. I’ve asked to meet him a couple of times and it never happened. I think we are going to meet next week or the week after. I wouldn’t let that get in the way of sitting down because there are serious things we need to talk about, how to make aviation sustainable.”
