Effective from 1 October 2025, Emirates will ban the use of all power banks onboard flights due to safety measures following a risk review.

Passengers can carry one power bank under 100 Watt Hours, but charging personal electronics will not be permitted during flights. The new policy aims to address increasing lithium battery-related incidents and the fire risks associated with power banks. The airline says it is committed to ensuring passenger safety, maintaining continuous measures to protect passengers and crew.

Separately, Emirates has launched a second limited-edition eco-friendly luggage collection made from upcycled materials sourced from retrofitted aircraft.

Emirates shared in a written statement “Safety remains a core value, with continuous measures in place to protect passengers and crew.”
