Rob Bishton, a former pilot, has been appointed as the new chief executive of England’s aviation regulator, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). This appointment comes as the CAA conducts a review into the air traffic control meltdown that occurred during the August bank holiday.
Bishton will assume the leading role at the CAA starting from October 2023. He has been with the CAA since 2014 and has prior experience at easyJet, where he held positions as the chief pilot and head of aircraft operations.
