Westminster finance minister (chancellor) Jeremy Hunt has announced an increase in the Air Passenger Duty rate for premium cabins on non-economy passengers.

From April 1, 2025, rates for premium cabin passengers will increase, with Band A flights rising to £28, Band B to £216, and Band C to £224.

Economy passenger rates will remain similar to the April 2024 rates, with Band B and C seeing a £2 increase in 2025. The increases apply to both Belfast and Derry airports.

Ryanair is among the airline who have criticised the increases.
