Armando Brunini, ACI EUROPE President and CEO of SEA Milan Airports, outlined the need for European governments to support aviation decarbonisation while maintaining air connectivity and reinforcing the Single Aviation Market at the 34th ACI EUROPE Annual Congress in Istanbul.

Brunini reaffirmed support for the EU Green Deal and Fit for 55, stressing the importance of ambitious decarbonization policies that preserve socio-economic benefits and competitiveness in the aviation sector while implementing additional interventions and flexibility mechanisms to ensure access to cost-competitive Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF).

Addressing the Single Aviation Market, Brunini highlighted the need for revising the EU Airport Slots Regulation to ensure transparency and effective use of limited capacity, advocating for full freedom for airlines to provide services and supporting innovation and resilience in areas such as SESAR Research and Deployment and new aviation technologies.
