
Cultural events are scheduled for Culture Night across Ireland, including traditional skills demonstrations at Pavee Point in Dublin, a concert by Berlin musician LIE NING, and an exhibition of historical postcards in Kilkenny.
Culture Night Late will feature extended events such as hip hop celebrations in Limerick and a cultural showcase in Listowel; RTÉ will provide live broadcasts from multiple locations, including performances from the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and other Irish artists

- Hugsie will perform folk music on the ukulele at St Mary’s Church from 8-9:30 pm, with no booking required.

- Enter the Tipperary Museum free of charge from 4-8pm to view and interact with The Big Dig, a life size excavation of a Viking House. Participants will be offered the opportunity to excavate a recreated Viking House and see first-hand artefacts from the Viking era. There will also be a treasure hunt to take part in, with clues made up of architectural details of buildings. No booking required.
- Traditional Music with a Twist in Thurles, Tipperary: Down Syndrome Tipperary presents a unique performance where traditional Irish music meets popular Abba songs, promising an entertaining evening.
Waterford
- Music Generation at the Theatre Royal, Waterford city. The Theatre Royal will host Music Generation from 5pm to 6.30pm. Nearly 50 young musicians will perform along with Waterford’s Wind Band. There will also be a youth open mic session.
- Late Night Opening at Waterford Gallery of Art. The Waterford Gallery of Art will be open to all from 6pm to 10pm with access to the current exhibition “Muscles and Mind: Irish Art Olympians”.
- ‘Waterford The Musical’, Waterford Cultural Quarter Stage. Over 200 performers from various musical societies and theatre groups will take to the stage to celebrate all things musical.
Westmeath
- Myths and Monstrosities at Luan Gallery. Visit Luan Gallery in Athlone to create your own monster or mythical creature figurine. Crafting will be inspired by Kevin Mooney’s exhibition Tuberclerosies. The event will run from 5.30pm to 8pm and under-18s must be accompanied by a guardian.
- Folk Lure at Moate Library, Moate Library will host local musicians Folk Lure, performing trad music from 6pm to 7pm.
- Women and Whiskey at Kilbeggan Distillery. Kilbeggan Distillery will host a talk on women’s past and present contribution to the local community and to the distillery. This will be presented by a local historian and samples of whiskey and refreshments will be available. The event will run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Wexford
- Draw & Paint at The Hope Centre, Enniscorthy. The Hope Centre art teachers Lisa Rossiter and Kate Whitty will assist participants through an artistic evening of creativity from 6pm to 8pm.
- Reflections, Wexford Arts Centre. The arts centre will present a combination of live animation, projections, music and poetry for attendees from 9pm to 10.30pm.
- Screening of ‘Song of the Sea’, Gorey Cinema. Seal Rescue Ireland will host a screening of the animated film Song of the Sea, from 6pm to 8pm. First, Seal Rescue Ireland will talk attendees through the work it does and then the 94-minute movie will be shown. Booking required at education@sealrescueireland.org.
Wicklow
- Colour Culture at The Colour Club. The Colour Club, Arklow, will host a workshop for the four to 10 age group and the 14+ age group. Culture Kaleidoscope, for the younger group, will explore designs from across the world from 5pm to 6pm. The older group will customise clothes with colour from 6pm to 7pm. Acrylic paints will be used and an item of clothing must be brought along, such as denim jeans, skirts, heavy-weight cotton clothes, jackets. Booking required at culturenight.ie
- A Little Bit of Everything Irish at Carnew Library. The students of Coláiste Bhríde Carnew will host an evening of poetry, music, storytelling as Gaeilge along with Irish dancing. Refreshments will be available at the event, which will run from 7pm to 8pm.
