The National Famine Way Commemorative Walk will take place over six days from May 20th to 25th, 2024, led by the Ambassador of Ireland to Canada and representatives of the Liverpool Irish Famine Trail to mark the launch of the Global Irish Famine Way

The walk starts at the National Famine Museum in Roscommon, following the National Famine Way for 165km to EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum in Dublin’s Docklands

The National Famine Way involves six counties and various local authorities along the route collaborating to stage commemorative events

The Global Irish Famine Way, launched at the Irish Emigration Museum, will be the largest heritage trail in the world, tracing the journeys of Irish Famine emigrants to various countries, beginning with Canada and England.
