FedEx is to build what it calls “a major logistics centre” near Dublin airport, serving as its primary base in Ireland. Construction is expected to start in January, and the facility should be operational by early 2025.
The logistics centre will be located in the Horizon Business Park, adjacent to the west end of the south runway. It will cover an area of over 14,500 sqm, which is larger than the combined area of three A330-300 aircraft.
The facility will have 30 loading bays for trucks and over 100 loading bays for vans to efficiently load and unload shipments. This setup will facilitate quick and effective logistics operations.
