Bombay City Civil Court has ruled in favour of Aer Lingus in a wrangle over landing and parking fees that originated in 1997.

In a ruling on 3 January 2025, the court decreed that the Airports Authority of India lacked legal grounds to recover landing and parking fees from Aer Lingus, imposing INR10m (€110,000) in exemplary costs and INR5m (€55,000) in litigation expenses.

The judgment clarified that only airline operators are liable for operational charges under the Airports Authority of India Act, 1994, dismissing claims against aircraft.

The K Singhania & Co legal team, led by managing partner Krrishan Singhania, successfully represented Aer Lingus in this landmark decision in Mumbai.
