First flight in Hamburg for saint Fergus, Aer Lingus’s fourth A321 XLR

Aer Lingus newest A321 XLR aircraft, its fourth, has taken its first flight. The aircraft is named for Fergus Cruithneach (d730), county Donegal born patron saint of Glamis and Wick in Scotland. 

The A321-253NY, powered by two CFMI LEAP-1A33X engines,  frame registration MSN 12248. with test registration D-AZXD and Irish registration EI-XLV has taken a three hour flight out of Hamburg.

The first two Aer LIngus A321-XLRs entered service before Christmas, saint Liadáin (EI-XLR) and saint Mella (EI-XLT). EI-XLU (MSN 12412, test registration D-AZXO) is also undergoing tests in Hamburg. EI-XLX and E-XLW are awaiting delivery.

The Airbus A321XLR is a quieter, more fuel-efficient aircraft that reduces CO2 emissions. It also offers a comfortable and stylish travel experience. Aer Lingus is proud to be one of the first airlines to operate this aircraft. The A321XLR is designed to be environmentally responsible, with features like seat pitch and entertainment systems for passengers. The aircraft is also equipped with in-seat IFE screens and Bluetooth connectivity.
