Flydubai has flagged concerns over delays in the delivery of Boeing 737-8 aircraft, having received only four aircraft originally scheduled for delivery in 2023.
None of the aircraft deliveries planned for 2024 occurred, leading the airline to extend the lease agreements for several B737-800s set to return to lessors, including tyhlose leased from Dublin, four from SMBC and one from Avolon.
Flight frequency revisions were implemented across flydubai’s network due to these delivery issues, impacting its operational planning.
In 2024, flydubai carried 15.4m passengers, an 11pc increase compared to 2023, with a rise in EBITDA to AED4.1bn ($1.1bn) and a post-tax profit of AED2.2bn ($599m).
