France, Spain, Germany, England, and Greece have been identified by Ryanair as the worst-performing ATCs contributing to travel disruptions.
Over 21m Ryanair passengers experienced delays or cancellations in 2025 due to ATC failures and staff shortages.
Ryanair says the most efficient ATC services are delivered by Bulgaria, Denmark, Slovakia, the Netherlands, and Belgium, contrasting with the failures in certain nations.
Ryanair has been consistently calling for the resignation of EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen for not addressing ongoing issues with air traffic control.
Ryanair also encourages passengers to advocate for urgent reform and staffing improvements in European ATC services.
Michael O’Leary shared, “Yet another month of ATC mismanagement has passed in August with zero action to fix these failing ATC services by those responsible – the EU Commission and National Transport Ministers. It is inexcusable that passengers and airlines continue to pay hefty fees for failing ATC services.”
