Airlines4Europe has reacted with dismay to the news that the trilogue meeting of EU policymakers on the Single European Sky has ended without agreement.
Ourania Georgoutsakou, Managing Director of Airlines for Europe (A4E) said “it is deeply disappointing that we’re further away than ever from landing a meaningful reform of European airspace. National governments continue to put self-interest ahead of agreeing to a solution that will deliver more efficient flying for passengers, airlines and the environment. Compromise for its own sake is not an option – policymakers have a responsibility to cease obstructing a robust and long-lasting regulatory framework that will enable airlines to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 10pc.’
