Authorities have seized the Gemini in Greece over Miray Cruises debts to DenizBank. A Greek court confirmed the arrest earlier this week after a hearing. The 1992-built ship lies anchored off Karistos with around 25 crew members onboard.
The crew has not received pay for two months and plans to leave the vessel as fuel and provisions run low. Miray postponed the summer season that included Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea itineraries. The ship changed flag from the Bahamas to Cameroon and lost classification with Bureau Veritas.
Miray faces additional claims from insurance and tug providers. The company experienced financial issues since late 2025 with earlier unpaid wages reports. The Gemini now shows a schedule on the company website for short Greece and Turkey cruises from early July and Black Sea sailings in August.
