Cruise beverage trends include non-alcoholic drinks, sustainable cocktails and THC (cannabis) beverages, according to cruise line beverage executives at the Marine Hotel Association conference in Naples. Michelle Solorzano of Norwegian Cruise Line noted a focus on sustainable cocktails with repurposed ingredients. Sara Hancock of Princess Cruises stated THC drinks may not be relevant to its guest demographic.

Virgin Voyages’ Keith Shoemaker said infused beverages and zero-proof mocktails are current trends. Konchok Tsering of Royal Caribbean Group noted Silversea has a complex selection based on regional choices. Princess is revitalising its Caribbean and Asia beverage programmes and using AI to ascertain regional movement.

Norwegian reviews its beverage brand mandate on a yearly basis. The top sellers at sea continue to be piña coladas, margaritas and daiquiris, according to Solorzano.

Michelle Solorzano, vice president of food and beverage supply chain for Norwegian Cruise Line, shared, “For us, one trend is sustainable cocktails with repurposed ingredients, and there is also a focus on clarifying cocktails we are introducing aboard our ships.”

Keith Shoemaker, senior manager, strategic sourcing for Virgin Voyages, shared, “Infused beverages are the current rage in addition to zero proof and mocktails.”
