The government has allocated €72m for 70 Greenway projects nationwide, including completion of the Limerick and Waterford greenways.
The first section of Midleton to Youghal greenway will open in March, with other schemes advancing in planning and design stages.
This will see 65km of new greenways completed, with planning decisions for additional 35km
Allocations have also been announced to begin implementation of National Cycle Network, linking cities and towns with 3,500 km of cycling corridors
