Heritage hiking Wicklow will launch a new exhibition titled ‘Legendary Landscapes: Hidden Stories of the Wicklow Mountains’ at Wicklow Library on May 14.
Isabel Clissmann, founder of Heritage Hiking Wicklow, will debut the exhibition which will run from May 14 to May 29, with an opening night on May 14 at 6pm and focus on lesser-known heritage sites in the Wicklow Mountains area, featuring original artwork by local artist Fionn Clissmann.
Heritage Hiking Wicklow was founded in 2023 to raise awareness of the natural and cultural heritage of the Wicklow Mountains.
Isabel Clissmann said: “I was raised hiking in the Wicklow Mountains with my family from a very early age, so for me, this project is sort of my love-letter to the Wicklow Mountains. Most people don’t realise that these hills are full of history and folklore, as well as nature, and I’m thrilled to have the chance to share these hidden heritage stories.”
