The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has introduced Timatic AutoCheck, a redesigned travel documentation and verification system that enables contactless travel and improves the passenger experience.

Timatic AutoCheck automates the document checking process for passengers and provides tailored instructions, streamlining the verification of travel documents.

According to the recent Global Passenger Survey (GPS) by IATA, complex visa requirements deter travellers who prefer a convenient, digital visa application process.

Travellers are willing to share their travel document information to expedite airport immigration procedures, with 87pc indicating their willingness to do so.

Timatic AutoCheck offers simplified and user-friendly travel regulations, interactive data-driven guidance, practical recommendations, and enhanced automation features for self-service check-in.

Major reservation and departure control systems providers, as well as airlines and Star Alliance, are already collaborating with IATA to upgrade to Timatic AutoCheck, aiming to achieve a seamless and contactless travel experience.

Timatic, which has been providing reliable travel documentation information since the 1960s, relies on several sources to ensure accurate data for over a billion annual passenger document checks.

This new system represents a significant advancement in efficiency, convenience, and customer satisfaction within the travel industry.
