The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has partnered with British Airways and Microsoft to enhance the accuracy of its CO2 Connect for Cargo tool, aimed at calculating carbon emissions more effectively, as announced at the World Sustainability Symposium in Miami.

British Airways will contribute flight-level fuel burn data from its approximately 700 daily flights, which will help improve CO2 emissions calculations and promote transparency in sustainability efforts across the aviation industry.

Microsoft will provide technical guidance and serve as one of the first pilot testers for IATA CO2 Connect for Cargo, emphasizing the importance of industry collaboration in reducing aviation emissions and supporting sustainability investments through accurate data.
