The International Air Transport Association (IATA) and 123Carbon announced a strategic collaboration aimed at developing interoperability between their Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) registries.
This collaboration intends to enhance transparency, streamline certificate management, and avoid emissions reporting errors, including double issuance of certificates across SAF registries.
IATA plans to launch its SAF Registry in April 2025, which aims to standardize the market for SAF certificates and facilitate the effective use of SAF in aviation’s efforts to decarbonize.
The initiative will involve engagement with other stakeholders in the SAF sector to foster interaction between registries and is supported by more than 50 enterprises, including airlines and fuel producers.
