Iberia becomes the first airline to operate the Airbus A321XLR (but it should have been Aer Lingus)

Iberia has made aviation history as the first airline to operate the Airbus A321XLR, an aircraft capable of flying up to 7,500 kilometers, following its delivery at the end of October.

Originally intended for Aer Lingus, the aircraft was reassigned to Iberia due to a pilot strike in summer, allowing Iberia to be launch customer.

The airline recently conducted short-haul flights to Paris and Stockholm and has successfully undertaken its inaugural long-haul route to Boston, with Washington DC planned as another early destination.

The A321XLR features 182 seats, including a 1-1 configuration for business class with fully-flat seats and an array of advanced in-flight entertainment options, as well as improved galleys equipped with modern amenities to enhance passenger comfort.
