Iberia has brought forward the debut of its A321-200NY(XLR) to October 26, with initial flights planned between Madrid Barajas and London Heathrow.

As the launch customer for the Airbus XLR, originally destined for Aer Lingus but diverted to Iberia because of the pilots’ strike, the airline will conduct six crew training flights to London and an additional 32 flights to Paris CDG from October 26 to November 13.

Scheduled transoceanic services to Boston will commence on November 14, with the A321neo(XLR) configured with 14 business class and 168 economy class seats.

IAG International Airlines Group, Iberia’s parent company, originally ordered 14 A321neo(XLR)s in 2019, with Airbus receiving a total of 496 orders from 23 customers for this aircraft model.
