Iberia has disclosed that a cyberattack targeted a system operated by one of its technology contractors, compromising names, email addresses, and loyalty programme numbers of affected customers. Passwords and banking details remained secure, prompting the airline to email notifications and urge vigilance against phishing via its call centre.
This incident joins a wave of similar breaches hitting carriers like Qantas, Hawaiian Airlines, WestJet, Air France-KLM, and Aeroflot earlier in the year.
