InterContinental Hotels Group has beaten third-quarter room revenue expectations thanks to resilient demand from US travellers both at home and abroad. Group revenue per available room rose 5.3pc, ahead of forecasts, with US RevPAR up 6.9pc driven largely by group bookings. The company noted it remains confident of meeting full-year market expectations despite challenges in other regions and higher interest costs.

Growth was led by the Americas at 6.8pc and Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa at 5.0pc supported by resilient travel from affluent Americans. Across customer segments group bookings rose 10pc, leisure travel grew 5pc and business travel increased 4pc. Results were partially weighed down by a 3.3pc drop in Greater China due to weather and public holiday timing.

Global average daily rates rose by 3.9pc while average occupancy rates moved up by 0.9 percentage points. Share prices slipped slightly following forecasts of higher adjusted interest expenses for 2027 and investor caution regarding regional exposure. Management confirmed it remains on track to meet full-year earnings goals for 2026.
