Social Democrats leader Holly Cairns criticised the Government’s decision to designate Algeria as a safe country, considering it “absolutely ridiculous” and saying ‘I’m wondering who is Algeria safe for?’
Cairns highlights the official Department of Foreign Affairs advice warning Irish citizens about the terror threats in Algeria.
Cairns also points out that homosexuality is illegal in Algeria, further questioning the classification of the country as safe.
