
Delegates will gather in Kilkenny this evening for the annual conference and AGM of the association for the Visitor Experience and Attractions industry in Ireland (AVEA). Over October 13-15, 2024, it will feature networking, guided learning journeys, and discussions focused on innovation, agility, and inclusion.
The conference opens with a welcome from Peter Cleere (Vice-Chairman of Kilkenny County Council) and Geraldine Enright (outgoing Chairperson of AVEA), followed by a leadership panel with speakers Alice Mansergh (Tourism Ireland), Jenny de Saulles (Fáilte Ireland), Eoghan O’Mara Walsh (ITIC), and John McGrillen (Tourism NI).
Presentations on innovation will be made by Ciaran Connolly (ProfileTree), Laura Magee (Irish Thoroughbred Country), Nik Wyness (Tank Museum, Dorset), and Robin Cantrill-Fenwick (Baker Richards), with a focus on future-proofing strategies in the tourism sector.
An access and inclusion panel featuring Eleanore Hutch & Kat Riddell (Diageo Irish Brand Homes), Alison Bowyer (Kids in Museums), Olivia Hewkin & Sally Booth (VocalEyes) will share insights, followed by a closing panel with Gary Farrington (Expedia), Rachel Kuhn (BOP Consulting), and Anne O’Donoghue (incoming AVEA Chair). The event concludes with a farewell networking lunch.
